Do not miss the “DARKER THAN BLACK | KURO NO KEYAKUSHA” evening during the Fashion Week on the 5th July in Berlin!
This event is presented by THE T-SHIRT ISSUE, OUKAN, SORT OF COAL and HARA KATSIKI and will question whether “a color is more than just a color or maybe no colors will exist anymore as we want them to turn black.”
For this special collaboration, THE T-SHIRT ISSUE will present the 1/10 Black Edition collection with a video installation on the concept behind the reconstructed shirts. As a conceptual unisex collection of 10 black T-shirts, each piece is made from a unique digital pattern and marked with a different seam configuration. Where the T-shirt as we know it has remained unchanged since its birth in the 19th century, its basic pattern is taken an exposed to a new 3d interface in which seams are used as building blocks to reconstruct it with.
From a geometric perspective, an endless amount of differently shaped patterns can be generated that always fold back into a perfect fit, leaving a signature in the form of unique seam lines. This geometric approach enables the optimization of the use of fabric, paving the way to zero-waste production.
