Creativity and innovation are the hallmarks of the German capital. And they represent significant economic power. The creative and digital sectors in Berlin are booming. The third Creative Industries Report summarises the development of the industry in figures, evaluations and trends.
The economic data of Berlin’s creative industries have improved to an above-average degree – also in a national comparison. The number of companies and employees as well as the sales of the creative industries in Berlin have grown to an above-average degree compared to the national level as well as to other comparable regions in terms of short- and long-term trends since 2009.
Parallel to this, digitisation is permeating all economic areas, including the creative industries. Whether it is smart services, augmented reality, smart usability, big data, VoD or wearable IT – paradigm shifts are taking place everywhere and form the nucleus for new business models and start-ups.
